Headcanon time:
-Sunburst met Flash Sentry at a summer gala thrown by Celestia herself - celebrating the birth of her niece, Hijack. To be honest, Sunburst was always very shy around the soldier - he was never good with dealing with crushes. At this time Flash Sentry was one of Twilight Sparkle's personal guards so they ended up chatting more than usual since Sunburst was invited by Twilight herself, much to Sunburst's poor, pumping heart.-After the party, Flash Sentry was the one who wanted to have coffee with Sunburst! The latter stallion was very nervous but told himself they were just meeting as new friends. New friends were always welcome! But instead, the two hit it off almost right away. Who knew Flash had a thing for nerds? Marriage came quickly, and soon after their only child, Daisy. They spoiled the hell out of their precious little filly and promised to do anything for her. They are a very tight knit family. Sunburst still can't believe he was blessed with such a beautiful husband and child.
-Daisy "Sid" Sentry is a very talented and promising flier. She has her mind on becoming the next Wonderbolts captain after her teacher, Rainbowdash. The mare is very prideful and was known for being a rich snob as a younger pony. Very lovely looking, Sid is the source of many's affection. Very athletic and graceful like a swan Sid can wow whole stadiums with her displays. Lucky Star, daughter of Rainbowdash is her rival.
-Sunburst is the royal alicorn family's (Twilight Sparkle, Celestia, Luna and Cadance) wizard. He is very, very powerful, sometimes training Twilight's son Poetic Justice as a child to learn to control his own magic.
-Flash Sentry has batpony ancestry on his mother's side. Due to this and being a pegasus, he can be very furry and feathery. The gene skipped two generations but hit him pretty hard. He is now retired and lets the fuzz grow. Views of batponies are very different than they were back then when he was growing up but there are still some prejudice.
the lineart for this was sitting in my files for awhile and never really wanted to finish it till now! Flashburst is probably one of my fave ships!! I love nerd and jock couples. Sunburst always struggled with his appearance but he never really realized that he was a handsome pony and had his own charms. The problem was his work and his ability to throw himself into it until he got himself sick - ponies who were interested quickly realized he wasn't date material.
