“Hello, Roy! Great weather we’re having today, don’t you think?”

“O-oh my…I need a shower…”

“What was that?”

“Yes, you’re very fine—I mean, the weather! The weather’s fine.”

Roy thought he was done with romance decades ago. He could never love again after losing his dear Paint, he believed. But when he reconnected with Chipper “Chip” Chatter, his former, now-retired therapist, something within him changed. It was nice to have a friend to confide in, but…this felt different than it did with Feather. It felt more like his younger days with Paint, actually. It felt so…strange and wonderful at the same time.  
Could he be feeling something for this stallion beyond friendship? No, he couldn’t; it had been over 40 years but he still wasn’t ready to love again. Besides, he was straight. Wasn’t he?
