1) as a young child, celestia paid no attention to stormdrop, as the queen had her own children to raise. but when stormy got her wings and became a princess, the first of this generation after her mother (and flurry). the queen paid close attention to her, trying to guide her through her first year as a princess, but stormy like her mother felt a lot of pressure under celestias guidance. she was always awkward around her and felt like maybe she was doing it all wrong, but was assured by her mothers that she was perfect.

2) while flurry loves to fly, if he had to pick between his horn and wings, he would choose his horn. hes not a strong spellcaster by any means (theyre actually below average for their age and heritage) but being able to levitate objects and manipulate them this way is leagues easier than using his hooves, especially as a doctor. here he puts a bandaid on his baby brother's booboo

3) SAD TIME! up until cadence had children she didnt really think about the long term consequences of immortality, living in the moment with her shining armor. after having babies, and raising them, she began to notice the signs of aging in her husband and was suddenly worried about the future. shining assures her that he has no intention of dying any time soon and that all his grandparents lived long lives, but still his mortality weighs on cadences mind always. she tries not to think about the mortality of her children, ever. the thought is too hard for her to bear.
