So I just barely learned of the existence of As It Is just a couple months ago, and I could not be more happy with the song that started that. I wanted to ponify him just to make that hair, but I figured that to get a better feel of his design, I’d be best off making his non-dyed hair first. Once I did that, I moved onto this one, which I still only really used a single ref, but lucky me, a few more popped up just days ago. CM from here. The shirt is kind of funky looking, but I had no idea how else to make it beyond gradients. I could have given him one like in the MV, but this one was more fun. As a bonus, here’s another MV.
I’d never done hoof polish or lipstick on a pony before, but it was kinda fun to figure out. Tho I can’ say it’s the best looking effect I’ve ever made, but it felt necessary here. Yes I put hoof polish on his horn too. And yes those tattoos are real. His magic speciality relates to emotions.
