Black Cherry Merlot shared pleasant small talk with his wife as they strolled.

They discussed her show, his fathers company, how amazingly well everything was going for them. The Gourmand family had plenty of time to do what they liked.

So the pair of parents were bright eyed and bushy-tailed, BC carrying their youngest daughter Spoiled Milk on his back as she slept.

Their eldest daughter Zesty had already boarded the train and they planned on doing the same, until she woke up.

"...huh? Mother? Father? Where are we?"

Milk rubbed the crust from her eyes and looked around.

"Where are we going?"

“Don’t fret about it, dear,” Flambé somewhat waved her off, not fully realizing how confused her young daughter was to suddenly wake up at a train station. But she tried to show her how exciting this trip was, especially with all the opportunities it created.

“We’ll be staying with the Rich family! Only the most lucrative family in Ponyville.”

She smiled, thinking to herself how much she was looking forward to catching up with Haut Monde by the ocean like they always did.

Spoiled didn't think her parents would be doing anything too crazy but she didn't like the thought of being whisked away in the night.

So as usual, she expressed her feelings through frustration, Black Cherry sitting for a moment to allow his daughter to speak to his wife more comfortably.

"What's wrong with Canterlot? All my filly friends who've been there say Ponyville is a hick town."

Spoiled presented her case as if she had the most credible source there was.

What if these ponies from this hick town were going to make them stay in a barn?!

"Many ponies would kill to have the view we'll have this weekend you know!"

Her father added, thinking he was being helpful.

“Your father’s right! You’ll be staying in a mansion just as grand as ours, with a private beach! And there will be so many high-end stores to shop at, including a winery—“

Flambé quickly realized she was getting caught up in all the things she was excited about.

“Even better, you’ll get to meet little Filthy Rich! He’s a charming little colt, about your age too.”

She cooed, trying to make her daughter giggle by teasing her.

“You just might like him.”~

At first Spoiled spurned her parents words, digging her hooves into her fathers shoulders to clue him in to her waning patience, and if looks could kill her mother would be dead.

Until she mentioned the real reason Flambé and Haut Monde wanted their kids there anyway.

Her resting bitch face stayed glued on her face but she kept quiet...for now.

The corners of her mouth even twitched and her tail swished as Flambé nudged her cheek.

She just might like him.
