I haven’t drawn one of my fave ponies in awhile...Ms. Tempest Shadow. The ex-lieutenant of the Storm King and villain is married to Twilight Sparkle - alicorn princess and bookworm extraordinaire. Twilight Sparkle took Tempest’s hoof in marriage as a white flag of sorts, and to show other ponies that everypony could be redeemed. It was a very rushed decision but Twilight was very firm on it.

Canterlot ponies weren’t very happy with this arrangement. Not only is she, well. A mare and not a stallion, she wasn’t even a full blood unicorn. This was a huge complaint behind closed doors. Poetic Justice was to be crowned one day and he had dapples in his fur! Dapples! The grief she put almost everypony through with her storm creatures and unsavory plans left a bad taste in many mouths. The mare also isn’t the most agreeable pony around and tended to scoff at what royals consider normal. To say Fizzlepop Berrytwist wasn’t popular was an understatement. But...if the alicorn princess trusted and loved her then there was nothing ponies could do about it. With creatures like Discord being accepted and forgiven by the Mane Six and alicorn princesses it wasn’t too outlandish to put up with a pony like Tempest, right?

Her son always hated how ponies judged his mother, especially in front of him when he was much younger. Or how they had awful things to say about the storm creatures whom Poet was always very fond of - or picked on Grubber whenever they think nopony is looking. It’s hard to not be defensive whenever somepony tries picking a fight about your family. Now most ponies are in favor of Poet since he’s proved himself to be more than worthy but there are a few who made themselves known that they aren’t pleased with current events.

Tempest Shadow is a tall mare and towers over many ponies. That includes her son, Poetic Justice who is more on the short end of the stick for a stallion. She never knew her father but is aware he was an earth pony. She lacks cloven hooves and is slightly more fuzzy than the average unicorn. She and Poetic Justice are very bonded and always have been since the two are very much alike. He’s her biggest cheerleader and will probably whip out some obscure lawyer jargon to prove why his mothers’ marriage is legit if you dare have something to say about it. The mare loves her malen’kaya sliva.

The prince usually doesn’t wear makeup when out on a coffee run but sometimes he’ll let his mom do his eyes up because “ponies must see the glory of such krasivyy muzhchina”. Poet just runs with it to please Tempest, lol.

Don’t worry. They’re just judging your taste in coffee.

To me Tempest is Russian :) She speaks it often towards her children and they all know it. If anyone was wondering, their kids are Japanese and Russian but are closer to their Japanese (Twilight's) side of the family.
