Cutie Mark/Special Talent: An apple-tree with a thick trunk, because over the years, he realizes that the Apple family is just like an apple-tree. They may have so many branches, reaching out into all directions everywhere, but in the end they all belong together and are supported by the same trusty trunk. And just like that trunk, he wants to keep the family together and carry on the legacy.

His cousin Zap Appledash may not like her own little brother too much, but she regularly allows Gold to tag along. After all, he’s at least also a pegasus so he’s able to keep up. He’s easily excitable and together with his best friend Swan Song the founding member of the new Cutie Mark Crusaders. Between him and Swan Song, they come up with a lot of ridiculous stuff to try out too.

But he’s also very hard-working and diligent. He earns his little crazy runs with the crusaders, which is the main reason why Applejack lets him get away with the shenanigans he gets himself into.
