fluttershy took a very abnormal angle on becoming a parent, as she had decided to go through a sperm bank to have her daughter. and for eight long years, honeybee was an only child supported by her single mother. that was until mr. sombra; king of shadows himself came into the picture and swept the animal herbalist right off her feet.

one would assume that honeybee had some protests to this, but in truth, she was just as bright eyed as her mother when it came to the new member of their little family. honeybee loved sombra from the moment he stepped into their lives, and immediately demanded that he join the two for cupcakes and tea. the guy was her dad from the moment he laid eyes of the filly, and he vowed himself that he would do better for her than he’d already had for anyone else before.

it was only a matter of time before the accidental kiddo popped up, but the surprise was a pleasant one. jasmine fit into the picture like the perfect puzzle piece she was, and the family was complete.

nervous initially, sombra was hesitant to the idea of him having another child in his life. it wasn’t like he didn’t feel up to the challenge, but rather whether he’d succeed in it. whether he would be good at it. but fluttershy was quick to ease his worries, taking his hoof in hers she looked him in the eye and smiled softly. telling him that she’d be with him every step of the way, as long as he was there for her. and quickly, he solidified his resolve and sought to do the best he could for his little daughter.

in turn, the sweet and ever optimistic; honeybee jumped at the chance to be an older sister. and she and jasmine were quick to get along. honeybee the protective and yet fun older sister, and jasmine--the curious, wandering and sweet as can be little sister.

a strange family, but one that fit together perfectly for each other.
