Shining Armor: Well, you had it right the first time. This is between you and your DM. But if you’re having trouble articulating what kinda problem you’re having, I’m here to talk it out.

Rainbow Dash: I think it’s mostly the villains. The DM really wants them to stick around.

Twilight Sparkle: To the point where it gets close to unwinnable.

Shining Armor: Yeahhh, that <span class="caps">CAN</span> be bad for both narrative and gameplay…

Princess Cadance: Well, I’m no group therapist, and I don’t want to go around trying to diagnose things I’ve only just seen. But if I had to make a suggestion for further discussion… It feels like there might be a disconnect betwen the campaign you want to run and the campaign the players want to have. You seem to like intrigue plots where failure is right around the corner if the players don’t consider every angle.

DM: Well… to be honest, I’m starting to realize that’s been the only campaign I know how to play. But I thought my usual players liked that.

Princess Cadance: Well, it’s clear they like intrigue /elements/, but… Well, think of it this way: You’re making a prestige TV drama, but they might be wanting a cartoon.

DM: A cartoon? The heck do you mean by that?
