They wanted some cute shipping fodder of Gabby and Terramar from MLP;FiM, just hanging out being cute. Although I think his hippogriff form is the cutest, we don’t see enough of his seapony form in general as he’s just as glad with that form as his land walking one.
And I think this made for a very cute scene either way.
