<ins>Backstory:</ins> When Spiral Twinkle was young other foals would make fun of her due to her mixed genetics. Her parents did their best to comfort her and reassure her. Spike was known to be friendly so he had trouble using his dragon size and might to scare others out of it. The young ‘Prince Dazzle Shield’ being a <ins>close friend</ins> of hers was always there to protect her if he knew what was happening.

The bullying did slow down as Spiral grew. Since her confidence did grow, and she appeared more intimidating with age. Thus not needing Prince Dazzle to save her (even if it got her to see him more). Remarks still happened when she became an adult, yet she was not perturbed anymore.

You may wonder that Ember and Thorax’s children got the same treatment, yet unlike Spike, <ins>Ember is seen as scary</ins> by the younger crowd. Thus defending their children from rude scrutiny. Except from the brave few.
