Saffron had a very good dad but a bad mom. Now a mom herself, Saffron is preoccupied with shielding her daughter from the big mean world (something against which little Samosa Stripes will quickly learn to rebel). That said, Saffimama doesn’t need to have constant physical contact with the foal. Plaidmom has the right to some of that baby love too!

Also, Northern Song (Saffron’s little cousin whom the couple are raising) is growing up fast! He is excited to teach the ropes to the new arrival!
