“So when are you two having children?!” Rosie the donkey practically shouted at her chaperones. It was a bright sunny afternoon after a fun day at a park fair. Rosie walked down the path with her chaperones, a white unicorn stallion named Angel Dove and an orange earth mare named Orange Blossom.

“Wh-what?” Angel stuttered, his face beginning to blush as Rosie giggled and skipped behind him. Blossom merely chuckled at the sight of Angel’s white face turning pink.

“Rosie, what makes you ask that question?” Angel asked Rosie, his voice choking just a bit.

“Well mama says that when two ponies are in love, they have children” Rosie answered, still skipping behind Angel. “And you think Angel and I are in love?” Blossom chuckled, her eyes watching Angel. Of course Blossom already the answer: she just enjoyed watching Angel become flustered.

“I saw you two kissing behind the balloon booth after Angel’s bird show! Doesn’t that mean you’re in love?”

“What do you think Angel?” Blossom chuckled, her eyes now piercing at speechless white unicorn. After a silent pause, Angel finally regained clarity, his cheeks still pink.

“Well Rosie-” Angel started, walking slower and clearing his throat. Then with a smirk, Angel continued. “Well I guess we are then, aren’t we Blossom?”

“Well if Rosie says we are, I guess we are in love” Blossom responded, giving a little playful hoof nudge to the giggling donkey. “However, I think the idea of children is out of reach right now” Blossom continued. “Besides, we have you Rosie, and that’s enough for now!”

Rosie giggled and galloped past her chaperones. Angel and Blossom merely chuckled at the situation; however, as they watched little Rosie run around and chase butterflies, the two ponies moved closer together and merely gazed at each other. As the two walked, their thoughts traveled: they both loved children, and they both loved each other, so maybe children could happen someday, just maybe.

Don’t you love it when kids ask you the darnedest questions? 

This is my entry to ‘s contest here. I enjoy drawing for contests, and with an opportunity to draw something gushy, why not? So, I decided to draw her characters Orange Blossom and Angel Dove. Such love birds! 

I do not know if this is the romantic path Cascayd had in mind for these two, but I wanted to play on the idea of both of them liking children. I also consider this fan art: Cascayd’s characters are so colorful!
