Description:
The Griffin that had been captured, disarmed, searched and restrained in Celestia’s office had finally gotten medical attention in my Equestria dreamscape. Shackled and with his left wing in a splint he was escorted by detachment of guard to an awaiting cell. Once there the Watch Captain would begin the questioning process. Quick Silver, Phoenix, and Blood Feather had left to give their reports to the Watch Captain.Of course his personal belongings were removed from his person and the stolen ledger discovered. As the guards continued checking the room more of Celestia’s personal staff started arriving.
“M’am!” One of the guards called out as he levitated the small ledger in the air. “This appears to be the only he’d succeed in taking before his entry was discovered by Quick Silver.”
Celestia took possession of the ledger and levitated the book over to her. She flipped open looked through several pages. Then she nodded her head and closed the book.
“I see.” Said the co-ruler of Equestria. “Thank you Corporal Trotter for your thorough search. Tell your sergeant I want two guards in this room for the rest of the evening. Also have word sent to my sister tell her…”
A flash and a sound of magic heralded Luna’s arrival as she teleported into her sister’s personal office. She was still wearing her gown from the banquet and had a champagne flute hovering in front of her. Spotting her sister she strolled over.
“So sister! Has the ruffian been captured and what treasures did the scoundrel seek?”
“This.” Said her sister, as she passed the ledger over for Luna to see.
Luna quickly scanned the contents of the book. “Just this and nothing else?” She raised a quizzical eyebrow as she said this.
“Either he never got time to take anything else or the only thing he wanted was this current list of guests.”
Luna looked around and made certain no other pony was in earshot. Then she whispered. “Celly. Why would he go through this much trouble for this? Did he plan on crashing the event? Sell the information to somepony else?”
Celestia sighed and shook her head. “I don’t know Lulu. Of course there are always party crashers, thrill seekers, and disreputable journalists who try to get an angle on events like this, But I think this is more. This griffin neutralized some fairly complex wards to get this ledger. Magic that griffins are not known to usually possess. I think I will want to talk to this griffin personally in the morning.”
“But at the moment we have a banquet to conclude. Corporal Trotter! Could you come here please.”
The unicorn stallion trotted over and salute the princess. “Yes m’am.”
“Your squad is going off duty in an hour, but you were one of the first guard ponies on the scene with me. I want you to go down now and file a report with the Watch Captain first before taking your leave. Inform your sergeant of this and then please do it immediately. Understood?”
“Yes m’am!” said the stallion as he saluted and then left to find his sergeant.
Celestia and Luna remained in the office for a couple more minutes so Celestia could stash the ledger in her wall safe. Then they both teleported away.
Corporal Trotter stopped at the bottom of a staircase that emptied out on to a darkened hallway. For a several minutes he stood there as if listening and scanning for something. Finally a voice in the darkness spoke.
“So. What do you have to report?” A voice hissed from the shadows.
“Her Mares-In-Waiting are formidable and cannot be underestimated. Our test subject hadn’t even completed his first task before he was captured, and in spite of being supposedly very good at his line of work they had no difficulty capturing him.
“Anything else?” Asked the voice from the darkness.
“He is currently is being held in a cell located in the lower level of the main tower. Are we through with him? Or do we have further plans?” Asked the corporal as he adjusted his unit sash.
“No. We don’t have further need for him. It is unlikely he can compromise us but one should not leave loose ends dangling. I assume we can count on you to tidy things up?” Said the unseen speaker “Just don’t raise awareness of yourself in the process. Understood?”
“Of course.” said the unicorn. “I need to get going I am suppose to go give my report to the Watch Captain. If I don’t show up soon I may get reprimanded.”
“No, no. We cannot have that happen. You are suppose to a model pony and an up and coming member of the Royal Guard. Let’s not compromise that. Be on your way. We’ll talk later.”
“Very well then I’ll report back again later.”
And with that the guard headed back up the stairs.
