You turn to the zebra you just released.

“Please, if you can help me find an adolescent blue pegasus filly or a unicorn with one eye that would help me a lot!”

“I guess I’ll try?”

You go down the hall and squeeze your way through an angry crowd that has a pony backed up near the arena entrance. On closer inspection you realize that it is Max who seems to have taken a few hits at some point and is repressing the crowd with the mace. The angry crowd closes in on him, only hesitating between swings of the mace.

You are still a ways back from the front of the crowd but you do see that Max has a clear path to the arena door which is only half closed.
