Description:
Emerald tries to warn Joyride about the thing the sailor is using, but Joyride seems to be a bit preoccupied and ignores the colt.
Getting a bit desperate, Emerald pulls out his focus and fires a magic missile at the pony. Emerald is quite glad that the spell tracks it’s target, because the magic has to arc quite wide to get to the pony because of the rocking of both boats.
The sailor, not paying attention, takes the blow to his side, causes him to fly sideways about a foot. The sailor quickly scrambles to his hooves, looks around, and then seeing Emerald and Joyride, positions himself so he is blocked from view. He starts to do something behind the pillar, and a second later pulls out a pistol and fires.
Emerald hits the deck in fear, but the shot misses both ponies by a good foot, smashing into the railing with a loud crack. This causes Joyride to look around, and seeing the pony she blasts him, and the strange rod thing right afterwards.
“Is that what you were trying to point out to me?” Joyride says, helping Emerald up with a hoof, “Good eyes, lil’ perv.”
She then turns back to the battle and fires more spells. Emerald notices that he isn’t nearly as tired as he was before after casting a spell. Perhaps all this effort is paying off!
