Emerald comes a bit closer so he can observe the battle, making sure not to distract Joyride in the process. Though he does get close enough to her so that he can at least acknowledge her presence to her. She gives him a side way glance and a nod before returning to her work.
The battle seems to be going slightly in the favor of the pirates. The sailors are being pushed towards the back of the deck, and there are quite a few more sailors laying on the ground than pirates. Emerald doesn’t look at the ponies on the floor to long, it starts to make him sick.
As he look away he notices a pony far away from the battle. It’s one of the sailors and he is hiding behind a mast on the back of the ship. He pulls out what appears to be a torch and slams it into the ground. He then says something to it and it starts to glow a bright green.
Emerald feels like he recognizes this, but he isn’t quite sure where from.
