Emerald attempts to go back to doing what he was before, but he’s lost the mood a bit after that interruption. He has to admit that that was pretty cool of Joyride. Maybe he’ll have to thank her later for that.
Emerald slow pulls out his focus, hoping that he is stretched enough for any activity that might occur later in the evening.
Emerald goes upstairs after cleaning up a bit and grabs a bowl of the food Ruby made. She is quite proud of it, and makes Emerald eat more and more of it. Which he is fine with because it’s quite delicious.
“Are you feeling better, Emerald?” Ruby says, scooping more mashed potatoes into his bowl.
Emerald nods and smiles, continuing to eat.
He starts to notice that throughout the meal Joyride gets a larger and larger smile, as well as closer and closer to Emerald. He can tell she is excitedly waiting to say something. Emerald can only guess what sort of embarrassing thing it will be.
