Description:
Emerald keeps running, hoping to outpace the creatures. However they seem to be much more adapt at running uphill than Emerald is, and he knows eventually they’ll catch up. He looks around the cave, trying to find things to push over to block them, and seeing some small, roundish rocks tries pushing them down the hill as he passes.
They roll freely, picking up speed and though most of them miss their targets a few of them strike the things, causing them to wince, and protect their faces, but otherwise they keep coming.
When the monsters get close the colt tries to kick dirt in their face, but they ignore it and leap at him. One of them grabs his back leg and Emerald instinctively kicks back at the creature and hits in him the head. This causes it to release him and roll back down the hill a ways. Emerald had hoped that would knock him out, but it seems to simply stun him for a second before he gets up and tries to close the gap again.
The one that Emerald didn’t kick ends up overshooting his leap because he wasn’t expecting the colt to stop and do a kick.
There is now one insect thing on each side of Emerald, though the one downhill is quite a bit farther away, it’ll only be moments before he catches back up again.
