The fight is over! Little Pip and Monterey Jack are victorious, and it seems that – just for the moment – they’re safe. Monterey begins searching the bodies of the dead Slavers and Raiders, looking for anything of value. He suggests Pip do the same, but the Stable pony doesn’t have the stomach for it. She knows it’s something she has to do, something she’ll need to get used to, but picking over one of the corpses, Pip feels bile rise in his throat.

Being sick over the side of the bridge, Pip is unaware of Monterey Jack’s movements until the shotgun is right behind her. Shocked, she turns on the pony she just saved… the pony who know intends to mug her…
