Diamond Tiara and Nyx. It was a thing before it was a thing and I’ve only just been struck by it’s brilliance.

Di is canon nickname for Diamond Tiara. So DiNyx is appropriate in many ways as an OTP ship name, especially since in the original story Nyx was going to essentially be “de-spelled”. So DiNyxing the bad tension they had all that time was actually love at first sight!

So, DiNyx’ing is quite cute on many levels

The way I see it, is Nyx eventually learns she doesn’t actually dislike Diamond Tiara. Because the book told her that those who bully somepony else, means that somepony is crushing on them. This is a fact because it’s something Twilight said, and Twilight is her mommy and she’s never wrong. Usually. Not that often actually. Okay but you know it must be true because it was in a book her mommy’s mommy read to Twilight, and so Twilight said her mommy told her that all that time mommy was being picked on in class, was because all the foals just in love with Twilight.

So Nyx figured her mommy was just very popular. So, even if Nyx isn’t as popular as Twilight was, she still has somepony who clearly liked her, a lot. Nyx knew this because of the sick feeling she got in her tummy every time Di used the secret code words of her undying love for Nyx. Why else would such a filly be so obsessed with her Flanks? Nyx blushed at the thought of Di staring at her blank flanks.

And when Nyx did her ‘research’ on what Twilight said, it told her that those who feel love for the first time tend to feel sick in their stomach, too. And Diamond Tiara always made Nyx feel sick in her tummy.

Nyx was shocked. The books never lie. All that time Nyx was confusing ‘hate’, which mommy said is a bad thing for ponies to carry in their hearts anyways, was actually LOVE that she was feeling the whole time!

This filled her with a startling realization.

Nyx loved Diamond Tiara!

Even if Di made her feel sad, apparently that sadness is what made Diamond love her back, too. The more Nyx looked sad, the more Di would get close to her.

The two were meant for each other, there was just no questions about it, especially now that Nyx learned Diamond was in love with her all that time and just didn’t know how to tell her!

Nyx was unable to contain herself. She had to do something to show Diamond Tiara just how sorry she was that she never caught on to her affection for her.

Nyx was so confused. But so excited. She was confexcited!

From then on, Nyx vowed to make it all up to her one true partner in life. She would devote her every waking and unwaking hour of everyday to make Diamond Tiara happy.

And that’s when Nyx began showing up [i]everywhere[/] Diamond went.
