Background: Born and raised in Canternsville, just outside Baltimare, Cotton first became interested in medicine when, as a young filly, she had to help one of her friends who had broken a leg while riding a wagon down a hill. From then on, her interest only grew until she achieved her special talent helping that same daredevil friend after he another accident on a trampoline.

At the age of fourteen, she began volunteering at Canternsville’s local hospital and quickly established a reputation as a teen with a sponge for knowledge and an eagerness to learn all she could about the medical world to help improve her skills and utilize her special talent to its fullest. By eighteen, she had enrolled in the Health Institute of Equestria’s internship program and was quickly accepted.

Bubbly and happy, Cotton has been described as having an “outgoing and strong” personality and is eager to assist in any way she can to fulfill the Institute’s mission to heal all the ponies of Equestria. She is currently working at the prestigious Bleeding Heart Campus of HIE, helping with the “Dangers of Transmogrification Magic” public awareness campaign, a joint program of the Health Institute of Equestria and Arcane Magic Council to raise public knowledge of the dangerous transformation class of magic. Over eighty-three hundred transmogrification injuries are reported yearly.

A/N: Just a quick little piece of reference art I threw together over the last two days. It marks my first foray into “normal” art, even though it’s tangentially fetish-related. I was working on my next piece of fetish art, a “public health PSA” poster featuring all the different cartoony fetishes and I needed a character to star in it. I first thought about using Redheart, but didn’t like the context that would create and I prefer my mares to be a bit younger, so off to a new OC I went.

Since Cotton Swab’s brand new, I had no mental image on file for her to go off, so I decided to draw a reference I could use when drawing the PSA. After I finished the head, I figured I’d do her cutie mark, too, because why not? Don’t know how long the PSA art will take and there’s no guarantee it’ll even be finished.

The thing I’m really happy about is how quick and easy it was. The Dash comic took a really long time and was a bit of a slog to get done, if I’m honest, but I’ve been rewarded for it by getting a better understanding on how to draw heads. The next challenge looms: full body art. Maybe I’ll try it with Cotton?

On the technical side, it took about three hours total to draw, and most of that was figuring out the color scheme. As always, it was drawn using Inkscape.
