Pine and Rosy Celebrating America's 250th Birthday
This image was done as a commission by the lovely MissEus. Thank you so much for drawing it for me!
Happy 4th of July to everybody, and happy 250th birthday to America! As stated last year, Pine Thunderoak might be from Equestria rather than the U.S., but that doesn't mean he can't celebrate the 4th of July. It's one of his favorite holidays, not just because of the fireworks, but also because it's a great time to hang out with friends, family, and of course his skunky girlfriend Rosy Stripetail.
On top of the U.S. turning a quarter of a millennium old, this year was special for Pine and Rosy in another way. A few weeks before the holiday, they met a bald eagle, which happens to be America's national bird. The pegasus and skunk duo hit it off very well with the majestic avian, and they became friends on the spot. Excited to befriend a creature that was a symbol of the 4th of July, Pine then suggested the eagle spend the holiday with him and Rosy, and he gladly accepted.
That 4th of July proved to be one for the ages. Pine and the eagle flew across the night sky with Rosy on the former's back, fireworks lighting up the dark and making for a wonderful display. Needless to say, it was a night Pine and Rosy would never forget.
