Original Version of the Portrait Zefanus Roamsky, New General from Great Kir Militarchy.
General is not available from the very beginning of the game.
Zefanus Roamsky, Zebra Philosopher and simply a very wise personality, who caught Prairie Spark's eye. He talks about the intricacies of ruling, explaining that ruling will be harder than conquering. He couldn't speak for long, but before his death, he said he would meet Prairie in the city of Sachin.

The Arrival of Zefanus Roamsky:
From the ancient city of Roam, Zefanus, the renowned and celebrated Zebra sage, has come to us. A gray-bearded stallion, bent under the weight of his considerable age yet retaining a clear gaze and keen intellect, he came to the Banner Host eager to share his vast knowledge of philosophy and science. He displayed the calm confidence of one who has lived a long life and seen much. The zebra offered his advice to the Lan Kir, and especially to our first military commander, Long Dusk, asserting that wisdom is no weaker than fire and steel and is no less capable of turning the tide of battle and granting victory in the face of inevitable defeat. The sage also offered assistance in governing the diverse lands of Lan Kir. Zefanus stood before the bannermen in the command tent, his staff tapping against the map spread out on the war table. "You can wage war with Niric fury and ultimately conquer an entire kingdom. But you won't be able to rule new lands with that approach," he said.
Some of the kirin merely smirked, dismissive of his enigmatic philosophy. A little further away, in the depths of the tent, Prairie Spark and Clarion Call were arguing in whispers over whether Zefanus was merely a curiosity or a true sage. Ultimately, the zebra was allowed to join Clarion's retinue, after which he quickly became friends with Prairie Spark, who was drawn to his learning and erudition.
(Let him stay. Another voice wouldn't hurt.)

The Map is not the territory:
During a rest stop, the zebra sage Zefanus Roamsky gathered the Banner Host's high command for an impromptu lecture in the command tent. With his characteristically brazen boldness, he unfolded a copy of their marching map on the table. He spoke, punctuating his words with the gentle tapping of his staff.
This is not peace, but merely a pleasant picture. Tell me, oh glorious and mighty standard-bearers—do these lines and colors tell you the truth about the land? The generously marked boundaries of Zaykir power, carefully and beautifully depicted on this canvas, can only conceal the chaos that truly exists beneath. No map can capture the destruction, hatred, and rebellion that plague your domains.
Remember: the map is not the territory. Beware of complacency, lest an empire drawn in ink turn to ashes. It is far easier to conquer with fire and fury than to rule with them.
The assembled standard-bearers fidgeted; some of their manes burst into flame. One demanded to know if Zefanus doubted the First Militarch's competence. Zefanus merely smiled faintly, bowed, and said nothing more. His lecture ended as abruptly as it had begun, but an unwelcome and disturbing warning hung in the smoky air.

Death of Zefanus:
The camp fell silent as the news spread: Zefanus Roamsky was dying. Clarion Call, her mane still reeking of smoke and blood-soaked, hurried through the camp toward the sage's bed. Prairie Spark was already there, holding his hoof. The old zebra's breath wheezed like dry wood in a fire.
He looked at Prairie, whispered his farewell, and blessed her with a smile. Then his gaze found Clarion. The zebra's voice wavered, but he delivered his final parting words calmly and clearly:
— We will meet again... in the city of Sachin.
Clarion froze. Silence reigned in the tent, only the banners outside fluttered softly in the wind. Then Zaranus took his last breath and fell silent forever. His parting words hung in the air, tormenting Clarion. What did the zebra mean? A blessing, a promise, or a curse?
Outside, life in the military camp continued, indifferent to the turmoil within Clarion's soul.
