Someday I'll be.
Silverstream longs to be apart of the surface world.

In the wake of The Little Mermaid remake trailer, I thought it only fitting to remake a piece that I did a good few years ago. Silverstream, much like Ariel, is known for having a curiosity for the surface world, and once again she is perfect in this role. I made many significant changes from the original image, including a more detailed background, and better-defined poses on Silverstream and Spike to match Ariel and Flounder's poses in the scene.

Now you might be wondering why Silverstream is here rather than Skystar. Well there are a few reasons. As I said before, Silverstream showed more of an explicit curiosity for the surface world. Even from the very beginning during her debut in Season 8, she is excited by virtually everything she sees, including other creatures. Not to mention we had a good couple seasons to get to know her unlike Skystar, who only had little time in the film. Second would be Silverstream's relationship with Gallus who is our Prince Eric in this scenario. You could also say that it still works since Silverstream and Skystar are related, with the former being the younger cousin. Ariel is the youngest of her sisters as well. So perhaps Skystar could represent them in a way.

But either way, I'm happy with how this turned out. You may notice that I used the new lyrics heard in the trailer. I hadn't seen the original film in so long so I decided to do a bit of research to make sure that what I was hearing was correct. And yeah "Watch and you'll see, Someday I'll be," is a new line that was added. Since this image is itself a remake, I felt it only fitting. And speaking of the film, I'm cautiously optimistic about it. I like Halle Bailey and shoot even Melissa McCarthy's performances so far, and Bailey's beautiful singing really sold it. I'm just waiting to see how where things go in terms of the writing, characters, and execution. Disney's Live Action remakes have a pretty poor reputation so I'm not holding my breath (Hehe water joke XD)
