Description:
"The quill is mightier than the sword." Said Wolfy to the blacksmithing earth pony, continuing their conversation as he finished securing the surprisingly light armor on his person for the first time. The armor was a solid fit, and shifted naturally on his body, clicking the metal and rasping the leather with his motions as he tapped the emblem engraved on his chest plate.
Smith approached Wolfy with the butt of a lance in his mouth, rolling his eyes. An act that tilted the lance effortlessly to either side in an imbalanced ovular motion, casually displaying the sheer strength of the pony's girthy neck and heavy jaw. The beast of a stallion had taken meticulous care in forging this matching set of armor for Blossom Charger's rider. While Wolfy was plenty grateful for and excited by his shiny new gear, the lad was as far from lancer material as the blacksmith had witnessed to date. "Sometimes-" the pony licked his parched lips to continue speaking after depositing the handle of the mighty weapon into Wolfy's grasp, "You need a bigger quill."
Amber was further Inspired by this image, in which Blossom Charger asked Wolfy to be her lancer, and Wolfy reciprocated with mentioning his need for a lance. Amber took it upon himself to draw Wolfy clad in his lancer armor, with his newly acquired lance.
Thanks to receiving a kind comment on my previous flavor texts and flash fictions, I was inspired to continue with them!
