Ever heard of a crazy massive coincidence? Yeah, okay, so not that big a pill to swallow here, but what if I told you that excluding some pretty intense beliefs in fate, that the narrative ahead is so far past such woeful notions of chance that even the most stoic agnostic will clutch reflexively at his presumptions in reluctant defeat in the face of said happenings. But I digress.
In their typical deadlocked state, the two orbs fitted for ocular observation ogled the ornate online organization below. It was a simple affair, and to be certain a familiar routine for many: Scroll, smirk, swipe. That's all it took, and BAM, a day gone just like that.
Even in what was supposed to be a rejuvenating perambulation through the countryside, the moment was yet again tarnished by the bad habits of the naughty sensory organs, and this time, the consequences would not just merely culminate in the steep price of further distance from the world that such time-sinks demanded. No, such fortune was not vested in the man whose locks of light blue hair hung like unruly pillow tassels across his neutral visage. His occipital functions relaxed into a forward lean as a messily decked out leg propped his phone within easy reach of both hands, each eagerly awaiting to serve the cravings of their eyeball overlords with as little motion as possible.
Much to annoyance of the vegetative sloth of a man, the sun overhead finally broached his hairline in its summit to the rest of the cloudless sky above, infecting his screen as it did so with all manner of irritating reminders of an omnipresent gaze of its own.
In what could be surmised as McGack's most intense thought that day, he peered longingly over to the envy-inducing shade that the grass a few acres away was receiving from a healthy maple. Realizing quite suddenly the effort that it would require to obtain the advantageous spot, he promptly locked his eyes back into their usual places at his phone and began anew. He probably would have continued for quite some time more, but for a sudden curiosity that poked into his feed.
Clicking the article, he vocalized a trail of thought: "Huhh.. Cozy Glow? I haven't seen MLP in a long while." He put down the phone.
His hands got to work on the arithmetic as he blurted out more of his ruminations: "Wasn't she the villain in season, uhhh, 7? 6?" It was at this moment of distraction that fate got to work in undoing any doubts of it's heinous meddling as his phone's screen took on a sinister shade of orange- along with a certain rook symbol popping out and whizzing its way toward its target flank region.
McGack took a look into his lap that sorely lacked in anything resembling precociousness as he sought to remove whatever the devil was impeding his vision of the normal world below. But no, this was no mere trick of the mind, as he soon concluded after attempting to sort out his vision with a large pink stump. He brought the offending object well out of range, only for it to reveal that it was well-and-truly attached to his arm. In fact, it was his arm. Or what was left of it.
Unfortunate as though the extenuating circumstances may have been, this revelation was more than enough to spur him out of his revelry into a frenzied bit of action. He initially attempted to swat at his device, and only succeeded in confirming that the light it was anonymously bending around it before had now consummated in all of reality being given a harsh rework to fit the phone's alien programming. Trees twisted into clouds as the nightmare continued on with gusto against the poor lazy soul.
McGack now lurched sideways as the rest of his body rapidly started to fit the puppet-like appendage's visage. He gave standing up a shot, only to realize that it was unthinkable to do little more than flop about with limbs that would be more at home in a child's playbox. Or maybe a... stable? He shook his head in confusion.
But, as it was, it became much harder to concentrate as the person formally known as McGack when certain biological functions switched polarity, and she soon knew no such being. As her ego swelled along with her features, so too did a single, almost metanalytical thought: "Oh right, season 8 and 9!!!" She claimed with no small measure of satisfaction.
And just as suddenly, the rest of the pony's brain took complete control and stamped out the last of her unruly ideas. Her facade of sweetness soon melted as Cozy Glow crooned "Hrmm, I feel like getting revenge all of a sudden..."
