An Unexpected Meeting

Above the skies of Equestria...
A week after official human contact and sudden intervention...

I was bored, very bored. I had been flying for some time now, getting to my destination which was the Wonderbolts Academy. At first, I was excited, very excited. Heading towards Equestria's elite flying force's base was a dream for every aviator in the EAS. But alas, after some amount of time of flying, I got bored.

I distracted myself by thinking of the new species that came to Equis: the hoo-mans. An odd name for a species, I'm aware. I, nor any other pony I knew, had ever heard of them until a week ago.

Apparently, the hoo-mans came out of a portal during a battle against The Corruption. They appeared near a small town close to the Crystal City, or what's left of it. The ponies that had been left behind were fighting for their very lives until the hoo-mans magically popped out of the portal and assisted them in their fight.

I had heard stories of the hoo-mans magical technology: faster than sound aircraft, tanks that fired blue projectiles, hovering aircraft, and various more. Though, until I have seen it, I won't believe in such stories.

As I flew, thunder was heard.

Of course, this confused me greatly. How could there be thunder during this time? I looked around myself, only seeing some clouds, but they weren't the type to cause storms. A few seconds later, something came besides my plane, something odd, something advanced...

"Woah..." I said in awe.

What was beside my plane was the most advanced looking aircraft I had ever seen. It was sleek, smooth, and pleasing to the eye. As I looked closer, it didn't even have any propellers! How was that possible?! How could it even fly?!

I gasped as I turned my attention to the cockpit of the aircraft. Somepony was... waving at me? It took me a while to realize, but it was a hoo-man!

The hoo-man pointed ahead of him, and I turned to look. It was the academy, and it seemed we both had the same destination. I turned towards the hoo-man and nodded in recognition, though a bit slowly as I processed what's happening. He proceeded to do a gesture I didn't know, but I assumed it was friendly.

We both flew towards the academy, and I took one last glance at the advanced aircraft beside mine.

"That's bucking awesome..."

When we land, I have to ask the hoo-man about acquiring such an aircraft...

This piece was the first time I've seriously attempted to draw a vehicle. Safe to say... it came out decent. I really do like how it came out, even as I'm looking at it on 2025-08-02.
