Personality: Generally positive and amicable, but following the start of the civil war instead becomes arrogant and vengeful. Believes he is always in the the right.

Short Biography: Born to a local merchant family, Light Shine received a tutored education that his family sacrificed much to allow him the best learning Stableside could offer. Fascinated with ships, Light left home in 982 to attend the Baltimare Naval College to become an officer. Graduating in 986, he would return to Stableside to oversee the expansion of naval facilities, using his family connections. There, he would meet, court, and marry the lovely Ivy Scrollheart (who would change her name upon marriage to Scrollshine). Light would be restationed to a squadron and serve in during patrols in the Fire and Starry Seas. In 1000, with the return of NMM, Light would join other naval assets tasked with the rise of thestral piracy for a year before dying out. This would be the start of Light's earliest mistrust of thestrals, albeit is subtle. For the next seven years, Light would transfer from ship to ship until finally being promoted to Commodore and given command of the Hippogrifia-designed Cloudsdale and a small taskforce of destroyers. By 1008, he was temporarily stationed in Baltimare for trials and refits of his squadron, right at the start of the civil war. Fleeing back to Stableside, Light would fight with the Celestial Resistance, growing increasingly bitter toward thestrals and communists, until it completely consumed his personality. With the rise of Daybreaker, he would pledge his loyalty to the "rightful ruler of Equestria," and continue his vendetta against her foes. It would not be until after the civil war that he would come to realize the terrible situation he and his fellow ponies were in, and the consequences of his own actions. He began a long journey of repentance, only to ultimately fail in the one goal he had set for himself, and commited suicide in his later years.
Misc. Quirks: Loves biscuits, eggs, and gravy. He never uses contractions. Loves collecting model ships. (no touching!)
