Note: Like, Onyx, here's yet another redesign of Ignatius. Hopefully, I should be done designing the two. As I've mentioned before, I did this redesign, because I now ship Spike x Gabby officially. No drama, no nothing now. I know, for those who've been following my story, this change may disappoint some of y'all. And I understand. But, at the end of the day it's my story to tweak and work on. Because of the change, the descriptions and characters changed quite a bit as well to fit the stories better. Anyway, here he is! I hope y'all like the new Ignatius! 🙏🏾 (and if you don't, that's fine XD. Again, I understand cuz ngl, I kinda like the older versions design/personality/background wise as characters, but this new Iggy isn't bad either. I just gotta get readjusted to him).

《BASICS》

Full Name: Ignatius Obsidian Sparkle

Nicknames: Iggy, Ignis, Sid, Scar

Parents: Spike Viorel Sparkle and Gabriella Sparkle

Siblings: (Twin sister) Onyx/Jade Gemstone

Species: Hybrid (griffon + dragon); Classified as a feathered dragon (not indigenous)

Gender: Cis Male; He/Him/His

Sexuality: Bisexual

Age/Birthday: 19; (Born in 2018 N.E [New Equestria]); Early-Summer; Leo

Structure: Medium height, not tall or short. Slightly taller than the average pony in quadrupedal stance. He's also a bit bulky/thick, but more in a fit way.

Talents: Athleticism and assistance

Occupation: As of now, guard training for the new militia of Twilight's Kingdom (still a new thing XP. Tempest thought of it. It's pretty bootleg as of now, but they'll figure it out). Will eventually learn that the military isn't for him, but pursuing multiple goals is. He will become a Wonderbolt, a philanthropist and a traveler.

《BACKGROUND & PERSONALITY》

He's an every man's man, a goody-two-shoes charismatic buddy who will always have your back. He's a big dreamer with a big heart and has a ton of goals he would like to achieve in life. He's a risk taker and is all for the thrill of adventure. A new day is a new journey to behold. It all started when he was younger when he was inspired to become a Wonderbolt like Dashies kids, Lightning and Cloudy Contrail. So, Spike and Gabby put him into the new training program known as the “Young Wonders Program” (Dashie created it in hopes to train potential Wonderbolts). Surprisingly, he was fit for it, and frankly, he liked it, but Iggy never signed up to officially become one when he reached the age of recruitment (which is 17). Currently, he has teamed up with his best bud, Solar Flare, to become some of the first soldiers in Twilight's new militia, called the “Friendship Militia” (very creative, I know, lol TwT). But even that doesn't seem like something he would imagine doing long term (however, it could just be because Twilight's military at the moment is so bootleg that he has no faith in it, lol XP). He wants to travel and assist others, but also be able to stay in touch with family. He thought he could become a mailman, like his mom, Gabby (and like Spike, when you think about it), but he also thought that was a tid-bit too boring. So, yeah, he's a conflicted young adult.

Iggy is still figuring it out at the moment. He's young. He has time. However, he sometimes gets bummed or jealous to see that his sister, who is the same age, already has her life practically figured out while he's still trying to hone onto one thing. At least he knows he likes to be active, adventurous, sociable and helpful. He just needs to realize that he can pursue multiple things and not have to be stuck on one career all his life. Though he's a risk taker, he still might be afraid of committing to careers that require you to be a part of long term, with no flexibility, like becoming a soldier or a doctor. Though he would like to help people, he doesn't see himself as a valiant soldier or a talented renowned doctor. Looking at his options, becoming a Wonderbolt is his best bet. He never really doubted or hated the choice, it's just he hadn't gotten back to it. Probably because he figured, by 17-18, he would want to do something different (which age, he tried with the whole soldier thing, but it didn't last long).

Regardless of how he feels now, he will soon join the Wonderbolts in his journey, but also participate in community/volunteer work/campaigns and other athletic activities, like sparring/brawling (with dragons and griffins) and travel occasionally, all while socializing and meeting new individuals. But as of now, he’s just going with the flow of life and taking interest in what Solar Flare is doing.

《RELATIONSHIPS》

☆Spike and Gabby: They are to blame for his cheery personality and go-getter mentality. He's also glad that they introduced him to a variety of skills, hobbies and experiences, because he noticed a trend in ponyfolk, that they commonly tend to carry out similar careers and talents as their parents, and he wouldn't have fancied that type of life. Though, yes he did get his need for adventure and hospitality from both parents. However, some other things he chose to do in life, like wanting to become a Wonderbolt and his athleticism in general, are somewhat different. Regardless, he has no reason to hate them. He loves them dearly. They never make him feel insecure about not having his life totally figured out yet and continue to be patient and understanding with him. Besides, they're not going anywhere. At least Spike because dragons have a looong lifespan, which means Iggy does too. So, they encourage him to take his time and stop comparing himself to others.

☆ Onyx (Jade): His twin sister who sometimes treats him like a kid or belittles him, but not in a mean way. More in a caring way, like giving him advice or firm affirmations like, “don't quit,” or “figure something out bro. Life ain't forever”. Sometimes she teases him about it, like she'll say, “it's literally gonna take you to try everything before you land on something,” but she doesn't carry on and isn't too annoying about it. Sure at the time it bothers or offends him, but she is right. Now, he just rolls his eyes and says "I know, I know.” Regardless, Onyx is still proud of anything he decides to do and respects the decisions in his life. Sometimes she wishes she had a free-spirit and an open-mind like him, although she is content with the career path she chose. She makes sure to tell him that too. Besides all of that, they like to frequent Sugarcube Corner and eat their favorite sweets (he loves tiramisu and brownies, or just anything chocolate) when they have enough time. They also like to fight, and practice kick-boxing with her.

☆Solar Flare: He's a strong-willed inspirational stallion, and Iggy couldn't help but to befriend him. Like his sister, Flare has a set purpose and goal for his life and Flare makes it quite convincing that he'll persevere. Iggy purposely surrounds himself with like-minded folks or individuals also trying to achieve or pursue something in life. He was inspired by Flare's determination to become a knight (and to impress the love of his life, Athena) and thought to himself, “why didn't he think about that?” Thus he tried it out with him, and figured it doesn't fit him. Although, he encourages Flare to keep going. He does hate to leave his friend in the dust. Besides that, they're commonly always together. Spending the night with each other, working out, playing video games, watching/attending sports games (and betting on the winning team), discussing who's the hottest individual in Equestria (you already know Flare's answer, lol X]]), etc…etc… boy stuff.

(Btw, unlike old Iggy, I don't think he finds attraction towards Flare anymore. He might be more attracted to Cloudy Contrail, because who isn't apparently? Well, as far as male interest goes, because he does have eyes for a certain mare too 👀. Anyway, yeah, the new Iggy see's him more like a brother than a friend or a lover).

☆ The Dashie Family: Well, with being a future Wonderbolt and all, he already has some connections with the Rainbow Bunch. Mainly with Lightning Bolt, as they both participated in the same class/team in the Young Wonders Program. Mainly because they were friends in that team and they promised or hoped to see each other as true Wonderbolts. But, it never happened. Because Lightning “messed up”... They see each other from time to time, but Lightning would talk to him in a passive aggressive tone filled with subtle envy and spite. Especially after he finally joined the Wonderbolts. Frankly, creatures were never seen representing the Wonderbolts, and Ignatius would become one of the first few. So, Lightning would never understand why he got in, and not Lightning…

Moving on to another kid of Dashie's, Cloudy Contrail. He and Iggy would become “friends” when he finally joined the Wonderbolts. Cloudy found curious interest in the new feathered dragon rookie. Whatever he was, Cloudy wanted a piece of him, and Iggy didn't mind. 👀

《EXTRA》

☆ The mare he has eyes for is Aurora, considering he used to see her from time to time with Onyx. He thinks she's the most beautiful mare he's ever seen in his lifetime. And he's been around/seen a lot of divine looking ponies, like his literal aunt, Twilight, Celestia, Luna, Cadence, Flurry Heart and even Estella.

☆ He stays in the gym and competes with others. Iggy simply finds quick gratification from achieving a quick workout or winning a fight between a dragon or a griffin that doubted his skills.

As a hobby, he journals or documents his daily life. He would become more consistent when he finally starts doing other things, like traveling and such. He might even get into photography and scrapbooking while he's at it.

☆ The first impression that ponies have of him when they see him is a scary hybrid, only due to the nasty scar on his right eye. They just feel very intimidated when they see him in general. But, they'd be surprised to find out his true character.

☆I can imagine him sounding and acting like Jay (BooBoo Stewart) from Descendants.

☆ Garble and Ember's rowdy son, Inferno, gave Ignatius his scar. He claims he was “just playing”…I'm surprised that Iggy didn't develop trust issues from that, but he did learn from his mistakes. That's why he trains to become stronger. Inferno did get his booty kicked by Onyx though, X). This incident is sort of where Onyx gets her overprotective tendencies from, because Iggy used to always hang around with the “bad boys” or “cool kids” to fit in or feel like he meant something. And of course, with Inferno, it didn't end well.
