MLP OC Meadowshrine

Oh you know I had to make one eventually.

Gotta love a pony that loves his job. Meadowshrine is in charge of Ponyville's graveyard, and he loves to dig holes. He makes it a point of pride to find the best plots for his client's final resting place. He knows the other ponies think of him as.... well... creepy beyond logic, but he still throws the best Halloween parties in all of Equestria. His "Studly" mark (he ain't calling it "Cutie" for any soul) is a tombstone with a heart at the center.

Meadowshrine sells coffins to, as he puts it, odd balls for quick cash.

Wooooo Ideas for backstory:

Gender: Stallion
Species: Unicorn
Age: 28 Equestria equivalent
Job: Owner/ Caretaker/ Lead digger for Marble City Cemetary
DoB: Oct.27

Meadowshrine is an enterprising seller of plots, coffins and tombstones. Born in Ponyville, he was a rambunctious colt with a love of playing in dirt, and
eager to discover his cutie mark. Getting lost in the Everfree forest during a downpour due to a dare he hoped would get him his mark, Meadow stumbled onto an elderly dragon's cave. Maybe it was kindness, or she was too old to catch the young colt (Meadow never asked) he was allowed to stay with her until the storm let up. By the second day, Meadow was digging out her cave looking for gems for her to eat.

When the storm finally seemed to be letting up, Meadow left to return to Ponyville. Reaching a clearing, he was attacked by a pack of Timberwolves. The young colt was ready to cash in his bits, when the elder dragon came to his aid. The battle was brutal. Many of the wood golems fled from her flames but the wolves had more numbers. The colt watched in horror as the dragon fell to their pine fangs. Meadow blacked out. All memories are fuzzy at best. He remembers a scream. A sharp blast and seeing the wolves scatter in fear. He believes a lightening bolt struck and frightened the beasts.

After crying for what seemed hours, Meadow tried to use his magic to awaken his friend.... It did not go as planned.

Meadow moved about in a daze. Digging and digging. Flat stones and his own two hooves worked endlessly through the night. When search parties finally reached him, Meadow had all but buried the dragon's remains in a huge ditch. Meadow fought to stay until he was done, but the guards reassured that they would finish putting his friend to rest.

Meadow met with his relieved parents and was taken to Ponyville General and treated for wounds, shock and exposure. All the while his mind raced to his friend in the woods. As soon as he was able, and with his parents, Meadow was brought to the grave sight of his rescuer.... and what he saw disgusted him. The ground was lopsided. No flowers. No marker to remember her. Meadow ran as fast as he could. Running to and from the town square and taking every seed and sprout he could with loud apology. With sore dirty hooves, Meadow rested knowing in a few weeks the land would begin to look beautiful and many could pass by and know something/someone special happened there.

It was then that he noticed his cutie mark had arrived.

Fast-forward to today:

After graduating from Manehattan Tech with a business degree, Meadow heard news that Mr. Waddle, Ponyville's pastor and care taker of Marble City Cemetery was retiring. This was his big break. He returned to Ponyville and all but begged Mr. Waddle to take him on as an apprentice to run the cemetery. Mr. Waddle could not ignore such enthusiasm. Even helped hip pick a loyal crew of screwballs to help him wth the task of keeping memories of loved ones safe.

Fun Facts:
- Meadow digs pools, cellars, trenches and such to earn extra bits.
- Meadow is rather oblivious at times. He forgets that some other ponies are actually scared or grossed out by his job. Mentioning what he does makes dating tough for him.
- "Plot" has many definitions. Meadow only focuses on one. It often makes him the but of the joke (See what I did there, DID YA!? )
- Meadow's mom was hoping to have her son work in construction. When she visits, she tends to try and talk him out of the graveyard shifts.
- A part of Marble Hill shares a boarder with Sweet Apple Acres.
- Granny Smith chases him away whenever he visits (often with projectile apples).
