Description:
After the Storm King's defeat, Grubber was unsure where he stood in the world - he could not go back home, and knew he would not be welcome in many places in Equestria. His pelt marked him as property of the Storm King.
He was surprised to learn that Tempest was to marry Twilight Sparkle as a diplomatic agreement, and that she wanted him to stay by her side! Grubber was confused and nervous at first because he remembered his acts of cowardness in times that she needed him but she assured him that it did not matter anymore - though Tempest promised to toughen him up one day. Twilight Sparkle felt distrustful of him since ponies and hedgehogs have a turbulent history (ugh, and those teeth!!). Hedgehogs are strong magic users (battle mages were not uncommon in Hedgastan) and were known for their harsh society that cherished a more brutish spirit. Grubber...never felt like he belonged in his homeland. He was always a bit soft and loved food a bit too much. His magic was subpar and he was too small to use weapons. Plus - he was born leucistic . Before the Storm King's influence he was cursed with the superstition of his light coat and red eyes. His eyesight was terrible along with the inability to stay in the sun for long. The tiny boy was known for standing behind his father's legs to hide, a sight that made a lot of hedgehogs turn their noses.
Then, his master had her first child, Poetic Justice. When Lance Virtue, the second child was born well...he fell in love. He always wanted his own children but did not mind if he was to remain childless. Instead he was a honorary uncle to two wonderful unicorn children! Him and Lance get along swellingly and they are very close. The mare always finds her Uncle Grubbs to be the one she runs to after a difficult day.

Lance has has an overhaul - I wasn't super happy with her older colors, sigh. I do like these ones a lot. Her cutiemark changed too. She's still a shield maiden and her old ref is pretty much still canon. She was a bit of a clutz as a child and hurt herself a lot, thankfully she found her strong legs as she started training under her mother. Grubber always bandaged her up with pink bandages with kitties and princesses on them.
Grubber is underrated! I think he's cute. I discussed him with PokemonTrainerMax and we decided he was an older teen during the movie. He's a bit older than Spike but they don't much get along.
