Artist's DA comment:

Trying out new art styles, why not give it a shot? Everypony else is, go forth as part of the herd!
Only I think Twi's head is tiny, her legs are strange in strange ways, and this took a rediculous amount of erasing to finnish.
On the up side, Spike seems pretty comfy, curled up like that. They've probably done this a billion times before, anyway, so why not nap through the small stuff? Like boss fights and doomsday prophocies, and the like.

... This is not the end of the dreadful pencil sketches, I warn ye. I went through a small phase, and there will be more.
