I have gone over this whole mess of a family in my post about Starlight's childhood, but the short story is that Midnight Oil was married to Twinkle Star and then left her to be with his much younger secretary, Twilight. His first wife is the Starlight's grandmother, while his second wife is Twilight's grandmother. Twilight is close with her grandparents, while Starlight has only just now started to get to know them now that she is older and has Twilight to help her connect to them.

I have written quite a bit about these guys in my post linked above about Starlight, and in this post about Twilight, not much to say here other than that Nightlight and Velvet are together and happy now, but briefly separated when Shining and Twilight were tweens and reconciled after about a year apart. Firelight has not spoken to Satin since their divorce and only learned about the birth of her son after Starlight came back home to Sire's Hollow after she left Our Town.
