i have been re-watching G4 and after watching A Perfect Pear i STILL refuse to believe that bright mac and pear butter are dead, i decided to make my own "end" to their story (as far as equestria knows, it's over.) and also throw in a joke about william shatner voicing grand pear.

it was just after noon in sweet apple acres and Pear Butter was leading her husband to the gate that lead to the pear orchard
"come on Bright Mac. Grand Pear has a trick up his sleeve that will let us see the stars in a different way" Pear Butter said as Grand Pear walked up having answered a letter of urgency.

"Bright mac, I'm sorry about yellin at you when you married my daughter, I accept now that you are family now and should be treated as such... speaking of, i suppose my daughter has told you some of the stories i told her about how i used to sail among the stars in a ship faster than light?" Grand Pear said reminiscing about his days in starfleet.

"Yes she did. Quite fantastic stories too" Bright mac said earning a smirk from grand pear and Pear Butter

"they aren't just stories kiddo. the strange new worlds, the new life and new civilizations? going where nopony has gone before? all of it is real." grand pear said as he looked to the sky.

"really sir? all of it? so granny smith's dreams of exploring space and other worlds with you are true?" Bright mac asked curiously.

"have you ever looked up on a cloudless night and seen what looked like a bright star moving quickly and steadily across the sky?" this caught Bright mac's attention as he HAD seen such a star on many occasions.

"yes sir, i have. So has everypony in Equestria." Bright mac stated. Grand pear sighed as he remembered his journeys.

"that's her kiddo. That's my ship... that's Enterprise" Grand pear looked up with a sorrowful look in his eyes.

"are you alright pa?" Pear butter said, She knew many details of enterprise from the stories Grand Pear would tell. he would often recall the adventures and even drew maps of the ship from memory. Over time before she got married, she would study the maps of the ship and memorize the layout.

"yes dear, i am alright. what i wouldn't give to go on just one more adventure in that beautiful ship. we got a whole other universe here... go ahead and explore it yourself. I'm getting a bit too old for wild adventures like that" Grand pear said before pulling a small black and gold box from his saddlebags.

"What is that Sir?" Bright mac said inspecting the small box. Pear Butter's eyes lit up when she realized what it was

"i used this back in the day to communicate with the crew on the ship. take it. From one captain... To another." Grand Pear stated confidently.

"Captain? you mean-" Bright mac started as Grand pear gave him the communicator.

"Enterprise? she's yours. I'm not her captain anymore, you are... Captain Bright Mac. And First officer Pear Butter, if ANYTHING happens to your husband, you do everything in your power to keep him safe. now, enterprise should be just about it to fly over, open the communicator and instruct the transporter technician to beam you both aboard." Explained Grand pear with a smirk. He knew they would make excellent leaders.

Bright mac opened the gold flap on the communicator as it let out a series of chirping noises. Pear butter leaned close the the communicator before speaking up in the manner she learned from Grand Pears recounting of his starfleet years.

"enterprise, this is First officer Pear butter speaking. Two to beam up. Lock onto my coordinates and energize when ready"

"yes ma'am. locking onto your signal" said a voice on the other end. Enterprise descended to visual range above ponyville

"there she is, beautiful isn't she?" said Grand Pear as enterprise streaked through the upper atmosphere. Pear Butter quickly turned around followed by Bright mac as they watched the starship slowing down to a proper position

"now look, you two" Grand Pear said getting their attention. "good luck out there. The thing about enterprise... if you treat her nice she will get you anywhere."

"now hold still honey, or the transporter won't get a good lock." Pear butter said as right on cue, Enterprise locked on the transporter and began dematerialization

"Woah... this feels weird" Bright mac said as he and Pear butter were disassembled at the atomic level and stored in the ship's pattern buffer before being reassembled atom by atom.

"wow... i never thought i would REALLY get to see my pa's ship. it looks exactly how he described!" Pear butter said gleefully looking around the transporter room. they both knew this was the start of the greatest adventure anypony had ever embarked on and that it would make their eventual return home all the more rewarding after visiting the stars one by one.

this scene was set up in SFM but modified with Krita. i tried to replicate the TOS "glitter" beaming effect with a little JJ Abrams particle swirl thrown in. the clouds and grass were drawn by me
