Happy Pride Month everyone!! Rainbow pride Most cities in my country seems to have moved the celebrations up until august, but I can still post some happy pride art here now :D

I wanted to draw the canon lgbt+ ponies we see in the show, so I decided to have them all participate in a parade! I placed it in Rainbow Falls, because... well, excuse to draw extremely rainbow backgrounds :]

First is my favourite canon couple, Bonbon and Lyra --favourite, because they got married in the show! They're not just hinted at or confirmed by people working on the show, they're wives! I know it's in the background, but I loved that they still did that (I mean, I wished they'd done more, please give me more and more main character gay ponies, hasbro), that they are, canonically, married. I love them so much <3

Second is a couple I didn't know about until PokemonTrainerMax told me about them --Curly Winds and Wizkid! I haven't seen much from Equestria Girls, aside from the first three movies, but apparently they're frequently being adorable in the background there, from what I can see in youtube compilations. Curly Winds leaning on and hugging Wizkid, them appearing to be on dates, holding hands, giving gifts and blushing. It's very sweet :) And I'm imagining their pony-counterparts mirror them, so they're here too, celebrating pride :D Wizkid was a bit startled by the pegasus foal zooming past them and jumped up towards Curly in surprise [--]Curly does not mind that in the slightest.

Lastly, Aunt Holiday and Auntie Lofty! Scootaloo's true parents as far as I am concerned. I don't know if they were confirmed as a couple in the actual show, I think it was just very heavily hinted at, but they were word-of-god said to be together. And I mean, they are living together and shown to be very close [--]and the world at large seem to consider them canon at least, judging by all the articles about "My little Pony's first same-sex couple!"(paraphrased). I still wish the show had given us more concrete romance between them [--]let the gay aunts kiss, darnit. I want sapphic pony smooches.

Anyway. They're at Rainbow Falls because Scootaloo insisted they'd go to that parade instead of the one in Ponyville. Because that's where Dash is this year! She visits a different town/city each year (or more than one per year, if the parades fall on different days), to perform a Sonic Rainboom as the finale for the festivities. So they packed their rainbow sweaters, scarves, mane dyes, and hopped on a train. That's probably also why Bonbon and Lyra's there too :) (Or maybe Bonbon has some secret mission, we'll never know)

The parade starts in the town, circles and winds around some of the famous falls, and ends in the fields where the Equestria Games tryouts were held. There some kind of festival is held, with, as mentioned, the Rainboom for a finale. Ponies have gathered from far and wide to see the fabled stunt, so the town is packed. Both on the ground, and in the air as pegasi gather clouds to sit on and earth ponies and unicorns drift in balloons. Scootaloo thinks it's great! Her aunts could do with slightly less ponies, but are happy she seems to enjoy herself. Curly Winds and Wizkid are both very happy with the convenient excuse of the crowds to keep close together, and Lyra and Bonbon... well, something about Bonbon staring intently at ponies getting too close keeps a bubble of breathing room around them. Lyra loves her secret agent wife <3

Geez, this took way longer than I thought [--]it seems life decided to happen all at once this month. It wasn't all bad, just... a lot of it at once. But I still finished this! And pride month's not over! Yay! :D Though I could have incuded more semi-canon/word-of-god characters (I think Sunset was stated to be bi by someone?) but I just... there was already enough characters for this I feel.

So, in case your curious about the flags/flag-colors they're wearing: We don't actually know their sexualities, aside from them loving their partner --so I gave them what "this wiki":https://lgbta.wikia.org/wiki/LGBTA_Wiki tells me is the sapphic and achillean flags. (Please excuse me if I get something wrong with any of these flags/orientations, internet seem to be conflicted regarding many of them) I.e. from my understanding, women who loves women and men who loves men respectively, regardless of any possible attraction to other genders as well. For ex. I don't know if Bonbon is lesbian, bi, pan or etc, but I do know she loves Lyra, so she's got the sapphic flag painted on her back :)

I also gave them the rainbow flag a lot, since it's for all lgbt+ people, and thus for them too! Rainbow pride I put some variations of it though; Bonbon, Lyra and Scoots have the "six-colored one":https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_flag_(LGBT)#1978_to_1979 we often see today, made in '79 when some colors were removed and replaced. Wizkid has the "progress" pride flag ("by Daniel Quasar":https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Quasar) painted on his cheek, and just the rainbow colors on his wings. And last, Auntie Lofty is wearing the colors of the original original rainbow flag ("by Gilbert Baker in '78":https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_flag_(LGBT)#Origin); for some reason, I feel like that she and Aunt Holiday are on the slightly older side, so I'd like to imagine she made and wore that sweater for one of their first parades, and has since worn it for each one they go to as a tradition <3

And lastly; rather than just picking colors that look good together for the background ponies, as I usually do, I based both their, and the balloons', colors on various pride flags I could find :) I had to lighten/desaturate a few of them, since they still needed to be kept in the background, but I still think this all turned out very nice and cute :D

As I said, I can't go in a parade this pride month, and I assume the same holds true for many of you. I made myself happier by drawing cute ponies in a parade, and I hope some of you got just a bit happier by seeing cute ponies in a parade :)
