_“What will I do if I can’t control my magic… What if I mess up and… and they blame you…?”_

Cleaned up a rough sketch I had of Astraea and her pops. I honestly will always love writing kids of Discord solely because I think there’s always good potential for character exploration and development.

So one of Astraea’s biggest fears is being seen as dangerous, and her father, Discord, getting blamed for it by extension. She wants to set a good example and is frightened of the possible consequences if she fails. What if she hurts somepony by accident? What if her father comes under blame for it? What if they decide he’s still a menace to society and is safer being encased in stone again? What if they do the same for her? There’s a lot of what-ifs going through her head when she’s a young teen and starts to come into her powers.

Like a lot of young people, Astraea is definitely still trying to find her place in the world, and she’s still learning about herself and her powers at this point in time. Her magic is more precise and predictable than her father’s, but she also sticks out like sore thumb in largely pony-dominated society, although Equestria has slowly started to become more integrated as time passes. Nevertheless, she and Discord are still the only two known living Draconequui, which leaves her feeling somewhat alienated no matter where she is. Discord of course sees quite a bit of himself in her, and he wants to her to have more support growing up than he did when he was her age.
