It was a hot summer day and Big Mac had been busy at work on the farm. It was a busy week, bucking all the apples down was still a very difficult job for the apple siblings, even now they had so many of their children working on the farm with them. Oftentimes Big Mac would overwork himself as he felt he was responsible to get it done in time as the eldest sibling, despite AppleJack being the one that took over the farm.

Big Mac stepped into the barn for some shade and a rest, he’d been working early mornings to late evenings every night for a week, he was exhausted but he tried his best not to show his family how tired he was. He used a dirty rag to wipe the sweat from his face and collapsed to the floor, he needed this break, just a quick nap and he’d be back out there to help. It wasn’t long before the heaviness of his eyelids overpowered him and he fell asleep.

“Daddy Daddy!!!” The sound of teeny hooves galloping towards him, stirred him from his slumber. He saw little green wings and an orange mane speed towards him.

“Yup?” He replied with a gravelled voice. He cleared his throat and made an attempt the wake himself up.

Summer jumped around excitedly, it was her first time watching the apple bucking, usually Fluttershy would be looking after her at home, but this year Big Mac took her with him. She placed her hooves on his muzzle to stand herself up on two hooves and looked him in the eyes “Daddy!! Ah picked an entire tree by maself!!”

“Oh yeah?” Big Mac smiled tiredly at his daughter, “An’ how’d you do that?”

“Auntie Apple Bloom lifted me up to the apples an’ let me pick em’ from the trees!!“Summer squeaked in excitement. The pride she took in being an apple farmer like her pa warmed Big Mac’s heart.

“Well.” He stood up and lifted Summer onto his back, “Lemme show you how the apple family <span class="caps">REALLY</span> buck apples!” With that he reared up on his hind legs, causing Summer to cling to his mane and laugh hysterically, and raced off towards the trees once more.
