A colt Mama and Papa Shy never imagined would date their daughter, Thunderlane. While Cloud Sweeper and Lillypad Petal don’t have anything against Thunderlane personally, it still wasn’t the one they thought Fluttershy would introduce to them. Back in their days’ the Wonderbolts weren’t the nicest bunch. Cloud Sweeper was quite scared of them while Lillypad didn’t trust Wonderbolts as they didn’t get along with her group “the Garden.”

While Fluttershy is out with her mom, she mentions it. Lillypad was skeptical. She kept asking if she was sure. Fluttershy had nothing but good things to say about Thunderlane so Lillypad let up and believed her. She suggested him coming over for dinner partially because she didn’t think Fluttershy would agree. Fluttershy did as she was confident in him making a great first impression.

So when the lovely dinner came around Thunderlane brought flowers, attempted to look good, and be overall his charming self. Cloud Sweeper is naturally iffy with strangers and of course the whole Wonderbolt thing but he still tried to tone it down so he could get to know the lad. The dinner did end up going rather well, Thunderlane was kind and complimented their house as well as thanking for the food multiple times.

After this he came over more often as he wanted to be on good terms with Flutters’ parents. Lillypad and Thunderlane found some common ground when they started talking about races and such. Thunderlane was surprised to find out that Lillypad was/is apart of the Garden so he challenged her to a race. She laughed and agreed. This became a regular thing for them to have some good ol races. One particular race they made bets, if Thunderlane lost he had to come get his feathers dyed with Lillypad and if she lost she had to make him a fancy dinner. Lillypad is quite competitive and didn’t end up losing.

In the end Thunderlane succeeded in getting close with both of them before he asked for their permission to marry Fluttershy, which of course they said yes since he worked so hard to win their hearts as well.

Quite a wholesome family as well! Zephyr isn’t the only loud one in his family, Lillypad is just selective in what she’ll get excited over. These are fun to explore the canon characters and figuring out dynamics and such!
