Some good ol in-law bonding!

When Cloudy Quartz was introduced to Rutherford, Igneous had already passed on, and she was honestly intimidated. He spoke very little, he was big, and she’d never met a yak before all she had to go on was the rumors of these creatures having a nasty temper.

Of course Pinkie would never let that fly, she would often make them hang out and be around each other. Slowly they got comfortable around each other- Wait? Why was Rutherford uncomfortable around Cloudy? He honestly felt really bad when he saw the expression on her face when they met. She looked so drained already and now she’s nervous when he’s around. His stubborn-ness would never admit that he felt bad but his actions would prove otherwise. He tried his hardest to be gentler around her, quieter instead of his loud projecting voice.

On one of their lil ‘dates’ Cloudy asked if he’d ever move his hair out of his face? He said “never thought of it” and allowed her to put it up for him. He had such gentle eyes. Rutherford then asked if she ever took her hair out of the tight bun. She replied with a small chuckle and “I also have never thought of it”. So she took it down, her light bouncy hair finally free. After this day is when they truly were quite close. Pinkie stopped pushing them to hang out as much.

Pinkie and her mom were in the house, fixing supper for their little clan when Pinkie decided to finally ask, “What do you think of him, mom?” Cloudy looked out the window to see such a familiar sight, it almost hurt her heart. “Well… I’m not sure Pinkamena… But I think I’ll come to like him just fine.” A sight so familiar to when she was younger, as her girls and her husband were. Cloudy thought for the rest of the day how similar the situations were. Igneous also didn’t have the nicest first meeting with Cloudy but with time, she wouldn’t want it any other way.

Ahhhh cute moments!!! I should do this with the other mane 6 in-laws right? I really want to XD or maybe just grandparents bonding with their grandchildren? Quick little things: Igneous is the reason for Pinkie’s lovely Pink color while Cloudy is the reason for any texture in their daughters’ hair. Cloudy sees all of her grandbabies often as the other 3 live either near the farm or on the farm as well. Pinkie’s family visit from Yakastan(is that how it’s spelt?) as often as they can but snow-ins are often. Of all of Cloudy’s in-laws, she likes them all of course, but Rutherford made such an effort to befriend her that she maybe favors him most.
