Description:
Lil’ Cheese and Macarooni are twins and are around two or three.
Pinkie had HAD it. Cheese had missed the FIFTH family dinner in a row. He was out partying and drinking with friends AGAIN.
Pinkie slammed her hoof on the counter loudly, the pain shocking her.
“Momma?” a small voice perked up from beside her. Pinkie swung her head around seeing two small pairs of eyes pushing the door to the kitchen open. “Da-Da?” Lil’ Cheese’s voice spoke clearly.
“Well, I think it’s just going to be us tonight, little Sprinkles!” Pinkie felt her hair deflating and quickly fluffed it back up, scooping her foals in her arms and leading them both to their high chairs in the dining room.
She began singing the little song she always sang to get them to be distracted while she set the table. They joined in, Lil’ Cheese’s jarbled voice the loudest, while Macarooni preferred to sing quieter and watch his sister and mom take the lead.
When Pinkie’s plate and their bowls of carrot soup were set, Pinkie smiled and dug in, the other two following suit.
It was midnight when Pinkie finally stepped out onto her balcony and looked up at the sky to see Cloudsdale. The foals were fast asleep in their beds, the trials of the day leaving them exhausted. Pinkie was exhausted as well, but she couldn’t go to sleep… not until-
“Hey P, why you still up?” a voice sounded from above Pinkie. Right on time. Rainbow Dash, with a smile, came down every night from Cloudsdale to check up on them and make sure they were all good.
“He’s not home yet.” Pinkie grinned, the action feeling forced and hollow.
Rainbow landed on the balcony, her head hanging. “Need me to go get him again?” Rainbow lifted her head, tilting it in question.
Pinkie sighed. “I hate to ask you, but that would be amazing.”
Rainbow’s smile returned to her face and she nodded. “I’ll be back in a few.”
Pinkie went downstairs to the front door to wait for them and before Pinkie could say “Speedy Spoodles,” there was a light tap on the door. Pinkie opened it and was face to face with Rainbow Dash and an obviously angry Cheese Sandwich.
“I swear, you let me down RD or I’ll kick your teeth in!” Cheese yelled into the night, the smell of alcohol all over him. Rainbow Dash had obviously carried him all the way home.
“Thank you, RD. I owe you a million bucks.” Pinkie smiled up at her friend.
“Just a free cupcake and we’re even.” Rainbow saluted and flew off into the night.
“You on the other hoof,” Pinkie snarled, her kind demeanor disappearing as she glared up at Cheese with fury she had not yet felt in her life, “are in SO much trouble.” Pinkie grabbed his ear with her teeth and dragged him inside. She set him next to the calendar on the wall, her ears steaming.
“What? Why? I was just out with the guys-” Cheese’s view drifted to the calendar. There, in distinct blue print, the words ‘Family Dinner Night: Cheese Cooks’ were written within the little box that was that day. Cheese’s expression drooped and he hung his head. “I’m sorry. I’ll make it up to you next time.”
Pinkie sighed. “There won’t be a next time. Remember? You’re going on your party retreat to Saddle Arabia? You’ll be gone for a month. You need to fix this, tomorrow.” Pinkie began to walk towards the stairs towards their bedroom, sick of looking at Cheese for the night.
“What? No! I have plans with Thunderland tomorrow! We were gonna go play hoofball with the other guys! They’ve been out of town and-”
“I’m done.” Pinkie spoke hoarsely.
“What?” Cheese’s voice was quiet.
“You need to start picking up more around here. I’m doing everything and I can’t take it anymore.” Pinkie sat down midway up the stairs, Cheese a few stairs below her. “I mean, look.” Pinkie’s hoof moved to her hair and she watched as it deflated and hung lov against her neck and face.
“I need to pick up more? I need to pick up more!?” Cheese began, his voice picking up volume. “You need to stop putting so much pressure on me! I have a way of life that I like living and we said that our relationship would never change that!” Cheese was now yelling.
Pinkie continued to the top of the stairs. “Cheese, it has to change! We have FOALS now! There was no way we were going to stay the same when we have two whole new lives to look after!”
“Momma?” Lil’ Cheese’s voice picked up from behind Cheese.
Pinkie froze. “Hey, honey, just go back to bed, Daddy and I are talking. Sorry we woke you, sugarplum. We’re gonna go to bed, too.”
Lil’ Cheese nodded and started to turn around, calling for Macarooni, who had somehow gotten to where he was standing next to Cheese.
Cheese looked confused and even angrier than he had before. “No! We are NOT going to bed, we have to talk about this! I am done being pushed around by you and I will not stand for it any-”
At that moment, Cheese swung his legs out dramatically, drunkenly angry, and hit Macarooni on the side of his face.
Pinkie could only helplessly watch and scream in horror as her little foal was flung down the stairs like a ragdoll, stopping at the bottom and going still.
Cheese’s face went just as still. Pinkie rushed down the stairs, Lil’ Cheese on her tail, both surrounding Macarooni and checking him all over to see if he was okay. The colt was bruised, scarred, and looked terrified, but he would be fine, Pinkie forced herself to think.
“I’m so sorry, Mackie. I d-didn’t mean to-” Cheese rushed down the stairs after Pinkie, reaching for his son.
“Get out.” Pinkie’s rough edged voice cut through the silence.
“What?” Cheese froze in his spot a few hoofsteps from the three of them.
“Get out, or I’m calling the police.” Pinkie coughed out, pulling Lil’ Cheese into her arms as well. “Get out!”
Cheese, horrified, flung the door open, backing up in fear. He backed up right into a smaller blue mare with a look of fury on her face.
“The mare said get out, so scram.” Rainbow Dash snarled.
Cheese ran down the street and Pinkie didn’t see him till a month later.
again, please read it, but if not tl;dr Cheese is a party animal and doesn’t realize he has responsibilities in having foals now, he just wants to party and get drunk all the time THIS IS IN NO WAY BASED ON TRUE EXPERIENCE THIS IS JUST A STORY, AND HOW I FEEL THE CHARACTERS WOULD REACT IF YOU HAVE MORE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS IM SORRY IF IT WAS TRIGGERING OR IN ANY WAY BAD
