One sunny Sunday morning, Rarity is walking to her job at Carousel Boutique in downtown Canterlot City when she is unexpectedly approached by a dapperly-dressed gentleman who claims that he is the owner of a new restaurant that just opened up a few blocks down from the boutique. Although she is a bit surprised by his sudden appearance, Rarity is nonetheless friendly towards the man as they engage in small-talk about general subjects such as the weather or their respective jobs. However, when Rarity says that she has to get to work, the man stops her and explains that he has been watching her at her job for the past few days, which makes the fashionista feel rather uneasy. The man the goes on to say that a girl as ‘lovely’ as Rarity shouldn’t be wasting her working life at a ‘below-average boutique’ and offers her a job at his restaurant as a waitress. Naturally, the purple-haired girl declines the offer (stating that she’s quite content at her current job) and attempts to walk away from the conversation, but the man stops her again and once again offers her a job. Starting to get annoyed, Rarity again declines the offer and kindly asks to be left alone. However, instead of backing off, the man simply takes out a gold pocket watch and starts to swing it in front of Rarity’s face. The fashionista is confused at first, but the more she stares at the watch, the more blank and empty her mind seems to become. Within a few minutes, Rarity succumbs to the involuntary hypnosis and becomes now totally open to the man’s every command and suggestion….

Having entranced his target, the man stows the watch back in his pocket before asking Rarity to smile for him. In response, the hypnotized fashionista’s lips pull into a rather cute grin. Once that is done, the man tells Rarity that when she wakes up, not only will she be the most enthusiastic girl in the world, but she will also gladly quit her job at the boutique and come work at his restaurant. After Rarity gladly agrees to this conditioning, the man snaps his fingers to awaken his subject from her trance. Upon snapping back to reality, Rarity (true to her conditioning) cheerfully says that she’s changed her mind and would be honored to be one of his waitresses before pulling out her phone to text her current employer that she’s quitting. The man is satisfied with this outcome, but seeing as he may need some more employees at his restaurant, he is quick to ask Rarity if any of her friends are looking for ‘part-time’ employment….
