Alright, last Lazy Company refs I had lying around for None. Most of these are not my creations or designs, but I was asked to make refs of all the reappearing characters for the comics. And hey, I love making character refs, so I got no complaints.
Out of all these, the only ones I created are Ice Pearl and Newbie. Ice Pearl was originally just a nameless unicorn made for random illustrations for the first Roan book. She was first drawn as just one of the race examples, reappeared in a later illustration about her Moth Collection. She was liked enough by Clear Skies to be added to the comic cast and a name was chosen for her.
I like to consider her a cold, rather neutral appearing pony. Emotions ain’t much her thing, although you can on rare occasions catch a smile from her when it’s something she’s passionate about.
Newbie was purely created for the Lazy Company cast, I wanted a classic “new kid”, the one to be teased for being the youngest or smallest no matter what he does. He likes to consider himself big, mature and tough. But really he’s just lanky, naive, and cute.
The others have already been used in the comics before these official refs where made. Annette and Sergeant were ponies appearing in book illustrations and like Ice Pearl picked up to add to the cast because they would fit in or seemed interesting to use.
Lt. Lotus was originally designed by a IzzyBrownie.
Annette was originally drawn by bunnimation, then JoeyWaggoner continued her design for the Lazy Company comics. Joey also added the Sergeant to the cast.
Clear Skies is of course Clear Skies himself aka mh47e. Had a hard time finding a clean ref of him with colours to use for cameos and giftarts, so I added him in the cast refs just to have an easy accessible ref.
More cast is planned, as we want a fully diverse group with representatives of each species from the book. For now, these are the characters we got going, including the other refs already shared here on dA.
