Occupation: “The best damn cook Equestria ever saw!” —Ginger GoldAbout:
Appleblossom Tart was the first born to the Apple siblings. When she came out, she shook the whole farm with her long limbs and big bug-like eyes. She was odd-looking, but everyone fell in love with her. There was no hiding that Applejack had fallen head over heels for her adorable new niece. Applejack proclaimed that she was gonna be the best new Apple that ever Apple’d, and spoiled that filly like it was her life’s purpose. Big Mac and Trenderhoof graciously welcomed the attention. Rumor spread that the only reason Applejack had her own son a few years later was because of how much she loved little Abbey.
As Abbey grew older, it was pretty clear that she wasn’t growing into her long and awkward limbs as was previously thought. She stayed skinny and lanky, and never really grew out of being so clumsy both in looks and mannerisms. It was a wonder to the Apples, given how large Big Mac was. Trenderhoof wasn’t all that awkward either, he was tall but still had some muscle mass to him. Abbey just turned out to be skinny and tall and awkward and silly. She wasn’t exactly strong, but she helped on the farm where she could. Most of her time was spent in the kitchen with Granny Smith, cooking for the other hungry, hard-working Apples. It wasn’t long before the rivalry between she and Granny Smith’s cooking skills evolved into Abbey clearly being the best cook that ever set hoof on Sweet Apple Acres.
Name: Ginger Gold (Ginger)
Gender Identity: Cis female (she/her)
Parents: Applebloom and Carrot Crunch
Siblings: None, but her cousins are like siblings
Cutie Mark/Talent: No cutie mark yet
Occupation: Still looking, she’s just a fillyAbout:
The youngest of the Apple cousins by only a year, and possibly the most confident. Ginger Gold was an Apple through-and-through from the day she was born. Even though she’s still just a teenager, Ginger Gold is strong and can knock all the apples from a tree in a single swift kick. She’s built like a brick with an ambitious personality to match.
Although Ginger gets along just fine with every other Apple on the farm, she has a particularly strained relationship with her mother, who often dotes on her to go out and find her cutie mark. Ginger hates the nagging attention, and confidently tells her mother that her cutie mark will come while she’s working on the farm. Her devotion to the farm is often her mother’s largest source of frustration, as she desperately wants her daughter to become a young Cutie Mark Crusader like she was. Apple Bloom is proud that she’s a part of the farm and all, but she longs for a deeper connection to her daughter, who is close to everyone but her.
Ginger Gold is the perfect example of the sweet and sassy farm girl. She’s beautiful and kind, but she’s not afraid to get dirty when she needs to. Her adult path is set on the one of a heartthrob.
Applejack teaches her well and expects her to be the head of Sweet Apple Acres someday, and Ginger Gold enthusiastically is paving her own way to be such.
Name: Suncrisp Apple (Sunny)
Gender Identity: Cis male (he/him)
Parents: Applejack and Coloratura
Siblings: None, but his cousins are like siblings
Cutie Mark/Talent: A sliced suncrisp apple
Occupation: FarmhandAbout:
Suncrisp is Applejack’s dearest baby boy. She and Rara love him with all their hearts. Applejack wanted a foal of her own a few years after the birth of Appleblossom Tart. Though she loved Abbey a ton, nothing had prepared her for how much she’d adore her own foal. If you asked Applejack about the day of his birth, her eyes would glitter and she’d tell you that the sun stayed out all day and night and that birds sang lullabies just for him. He was her pair of rose-colored glasses.
When he was born he was partially blind. The midmare told her that it wasn’t likely that his vision would last very long. Applejack and Rara were shocked, but not disappointed. They loved their colt anyway, and Applejack wasn’t worried about his role on the farm. As predicted, a few years later, Sunny’s eyesight had gone completely. He remembers the important things: What his mothers look like, what his cousins look like, and that his favorite color is orange, “just like mama.”
He’s young, but very large and strong. He hums a lot and inherited Rara’s talent for singing. Oftentimes, he’ll hum to feel the vibration of the trees to get around as he works on the farm.
Sunny is soft-spoken and good-humored. He’ll often respond to his cousins’ “I’ve never seen that before!” with things like “Neither have I” and give a soft smile.
