Description:
Page 1091 – Pantheon HuddleDiscord’s bit in Panel 3, in-character, just means that elsewhere on the internet, like on an imageboard or something, someone unconnected is typing up a story for a different audience.
But who am I kidding? That’s just a thin veil over a bit of brushing up against the fourth wall.
Transcript:
Discord GM: Now that we’re in the hallway and can speak freely, fictional god-like-being to fictional god-like-being… I assume you have some complaints?
DM: I feel like you were a little disingenuous with the Bard.
Discord GM: Nonsense; I was upfront to an unprecedented degree.
DM: When she asked you what the “goal” of the curse was… You conveniently left out “annoy the others and drive their friendship apart.“
Discord GM: Oh, you worrywart. A little subterfuge never TPK’d anyone.
DM: I’m pretty sure–
Discord GM: YES, it’s inevitable that someone, somewhere, is typing up a story as we speak. Listen. All I’m trying to do is what Discord would do – test the strength of their oh-so-vital friendship. I’m not even trying to kill their characters! This is me going easy.
DM: Based on my experience with you, I can’t deny THAT… I’m just worried they’re going to get bored and frustrated while you continue “showing off.” Are you going to let them do anything?
Discord GM: A good point. How about this? I handle Rarity alone while you go back to the main group for a while.
DM: Hmm… Maybe an encounter where they come across some royal guards that are also lost in the maze?
Discord GM: That sounds perfect. See? We’re still a team.
