If it gets to the point where your players back up their actions with documents that could be admissible in a court of law, you may have gone too deep.

The “flourishes with my hair” clause was a last-minute addition and now my favorite part. I imagine Rarity being very particular about what a swish means.

Rarity: Fine. I acquiesce. I will sacrifice my cloak for the greater good.

DM: The “greater good,” in this case, being getting wet and stepped on.

Rarity: Actually, the “greater good” is the two seconds of smug satisfaction distracting him from the signal I’m giving Applejack across the room.

DM: What signal??

Rarity: A prearranged code of blinks, nods, and flourishes with my hair.

DM: There’s no way you two actually–

Applejack: Of course we worked on exit strategies in advance! Look, here’s the list of signals we agreed upon, signed and dated.

DM: You didn’t… You did.
