Description:
What’s that? A hunky, laidback Dad comforting his red-eyed filly? Whatever could he be doing that for . . .
—————————————————————————————————————————
So y’all wanted to see the art piece I had planned for this past Father’s Day but haven’t finished the dialogue for, so here it is!
I haven’t touched on these two and their relationship yet, which is a real shame because they’re practically inseparable. Sonata doesn’t like to think she picks favorites, but there’s no denying they share a special bond that Sonata simply doesn’t have with her Rarity. You’ll get a hint at the reason for this in the dialogue that I’m eventually gonna stitch together for this piece.
Also, this is the first time I’ve ever drawn these two together, like, at all ( again to my chagrin). On top of that, it’s also the first time Sonata’s debuted with her newly updated design! Admittedly, it’s a little bit too much like Joe’s for me, but I’m sure I just need to get used to it. What do you all think, does it clash with his coat or compliment it?
And for those of you who know my regular style, I’m neither denying that the extra coat scruff lines and glare marks in their manes are gonna be a regular trend now in my pieces. I was simply experimenting and having fun with this pic and seeing how much I like it ( which FYI I kinda do). I’m not saying I’ll adopt these extra details into my regular style permanently, but who knows!
Anyways, have fun speculating!
