Another mini sketchdump for the Bodyguard!verse AU. Some of ya’ll asked about God!Discord, sooooo… here he be. :3 So as far as Discord goes for this AU:

Discord is a literal God in this AU, in that he is unable to die and is far more powerful than his canon counterpart. Like the sisters, he is among one of the more popular gods of this world, and is often called the Lord of Chaos. He is often associated with Fortune, Luck, Cunning, and Trickery. He has prayer stones and temples dedicated to his name all over Equestria, with the temple he favors being deep within a mountainous region of Equestria. It isn’t nearly as high, but it’s unassuming appearance and seemingly abrupt weather changes makes it difficult to reach.

As far as Discord goes with the public, he’s the god that is often sought after by those who are greedy or in hopes of some change in luck. He receives attention that is slightly more negative than positive, however despite how Equestria perceives the god, Discord is neither good nor bad. He’s actually pretty neutral, and often grants blessings he thinks will bring the most entertainment to him. Sometimes his tricks can be seen as somewhat cruel. That said, he isn’t malevolent, and he’s known to grant blessings that actually come of great help. It’s kinda why he’s seen as a god with the virtue of fortune; you either score, or you don’t. Still though, the more greedy you are, the more likely it’ll be that Discord screws around with you.

For his appearance, I pretty much left him looking mostly like his canon counterpart, however I did add a couple of markings here and there. In red are his “chaos markings”, of which can shift and change color and even shape depending on how Discord wants them to look. For simplicity’s sake, this is how the mark is often seen when he is being depicted by artists. Upon his wings and horns are runes of an unknown language, which glow red when in his “Deity” form (this form), but remain dormant when using his “balanced” form. The regalia among his neck looks a bit like a shackle that has been broken, the piece itself appearing somewhat scuffed and rusty with age and damage. His mark of chaos is in the center of the regalia, with more faded runes etched into it’s surface. In this form, I see him switching between a completely solid appearance and taking on one that is a mixture of solidity and wispy/smokiness. This specifically happens when he moves, which gives him the appearance of the ability to be literally anything and be anywhere he wishes at any given time. I only sketched it out in a very fast, 2 minute sketch (seen in the bottom), but I dunno if that translates well. Eh.
