Description:
On to Mac and Flutters’ third and second born respectively; the fraternal twins Apple Sorbet and Pink Lemonade.
Sorbet has a more yellow-orange coat, mixed from both his parents but tending just a little closer to Mom than Dad. The eye color didn’t come from anyone specifically but it’s definitely from Mac’s side of the family, both Granny Smith and Apple Bloom have yellow in their eyes, and I went with an eye style closer to Big Mac’s. His mane is a more rosy red than Big Mac’s and his mane and tail were modeled closer to Fluttershy’s. I changed his mane slightly from the Mother’s Day pic while I was trying to lend a more distinct look to it from his siblings. I had the idea of giving a lot of extra hair lines to his mane and tail instead of the one to three most of the other children had when I got the idea of filling in one of the sections I had made with another color. I admit that I made that design first and searched through Mac’s family tree to justify after, but his Great Grandpa Grand Pear had something like that in his mane and his Great Great Grandma Sow N Sew had something almost exactly like that in her’s, so that’s where I’m saying it’s from. There’s not much to tell about the name. It popped into my head, I liked it, then I checked to make sure that apple sorbet is a real thing: it is.
Lemonade is more straight forward; he has his mother’s/maternal grandfather’s eye shape, a reverse of his mother’s mane and coat colors shifted around a bit to be a little less boring, his maternal grandma’s eye color, and his paternal grandmother’s curly mane. I got the idea for his name and cutie mark just from me associating pink and yellow with pink lemonade.
I’d like to say how nice it is to have seen so much of Fluttershy and Big Macintosh’s extended family, it gives much more to draw from when designing these kids.
