The colt examined the cracked stone sword he had wrestled from the creatures now strewn upon the ground. It was lighter than he thought it would be. It’s sharpness did meet her low expectations though. It was also shorter than the sword he was used to using. Now given a chance to rest, the colt reflected on the events preceeding this.
He had gotten here by falling down a hole near a heavily fortified temple he was trying to sneak into. It was for certain he was now deep beneath it. These creatures had been there.They looked like gaunt zombies, but zombies like he had never seen or heard of before. Shriveled an desiccated almost beyond recognition. They were deadly strong, but brittle as a cookie. He could only imagine it was some sort of evil magic enhances their strength, but not their fortitude. He had found them standing and praying to this bloated zebra statue holding a large green gem. This gem was surely what he was looking for.
He frowned. He needed to remove his backpack to fit into the hole. He certainly could have carried that thing into it. Especially now that it had been enchanted to be able carry nearly anything that could fit into the hole atop it. It was nearly weightless as well.
